Wednesday 15th July, this morning I woke to indescribable urge to write, so I had a yogurt and set off for a walk with notepad and pens to find a place to sit and let the ideas fall. Whilst walking I was thinking over events of the last few days, from a man falling overboard and losing his life, to the Joe Cocker concert we went to last night, to being anchored out at St Mary's, I had a real eclectic list of thoughts and ideas. I walked to Weldon's Marina and people watched a little and boat coveted, then walked up Lakeside, on six blocks or so, then across six blocks, and making my way back to O'Donnells Square, where I sat in the shade and penned the bones of six poems, all of which need more work, but I am begining to believe a volume of Poems inspired by this trip is a possibility, to date I have written nine and have ideas for more.
In the early hours tomorrow morning at around 4am, our time we are setting off for a 6 day trip to Cape May, and travelling as dawn breaks I know will evoke more writings, and things I see and experience on this trip will find there way onto paper, so apart from Fleur I will bring you some poetry. I can not believe my time here is down to the last eleven days, it has gone so fast, and I know I do not want to leave, I love it here, water and boats what a superb combination. Better than fish and chips!
