This blog is the place for me to put my thoughts and poems, in order for us to get to know each other before ultimately I start to to bring into the public domain a story written for children, to be read by them or to them by parents or indeed grandparents.
The story is the first book of a series. I will be putting it up in bite size episodes, that I hope will whet your appetites to return for the next installment.
Fleur – the lonely pocket mouse, a tale of one of the world’s smallest mice, she is golden brown, with a very long tail. Hers is a story of adventure, friendships and community building, in a way I would like to see our current society develop. Where we would all treat one another in the way we ourselves would wish to be treated. Where helping one another regardless of race and creed would be normal, where a moral code acceptable to all could be forged and lived out by all.
I maybe being both over optimistic and idealistic, but I do believe it is through quality time with our children or grandchildren, that we can change the appalling place our children are growing up in.
Learning through reading and dialogue is a way to provoke ideas to challenge young minds. With my books I am asking the reader and child to use their imagination to explore the simple ideas, hopefully this will provide good dialogue between generations, and cause questioning and enquiring minds to ask why? Why are things the way they are and how may they be changed.
Fleur – the lonely pocket mouse is followed by Book 2: Fleur and Cedarick, Book 3: Griffin and Griselda and Book 4: Freddie Reynard.
I am currently working on a set of prequels to each character and object, your ideas of how they came to be there would be brilliant and promote dialogue between you the reader and myself the writer.
As yet I have no illustrator and again would love your input.
So just keep watching this space for Fleur’s first installment, coming very soon.
